"Waves of Fire" - Grand Haven Lighthouses at Sunset 2020 - 2x1 Ratio

I went to the pier in Grand Haven after a rainy day, hoping the clouds would clear up enough for an interesting sunset shot. I wasn't expecting such beautiful explosion of color! There was a line of clouds moving to the south and it was clear to the north. I ended up shooting this panoramic photo with the edge of the cloud line positioned over Grand Haven to create waves of vibrant reds, oranges, and pink. This was how it looked about 20 minutes after sunset, and you can see where the sun was positioned in the middle of the channel as it continued to provide bright reds from below Lake Michigan's horizon.

Grand Haven Lighthouse with Crescent Moon and Boat Traffic - 3x2 Ratio

This image of the Grand Haven South Pier Lights is a result of combining multiple photos taken over the course of an hour on September 19th, 2020. The colorful sky with people walking the pier was one of the earlier photos of the evening, so I combined that scene with some long exposure boat lights in the dark, along with the crescent moon as it descended above the pier.

Grand Haven Piers and Lighthouses with Boat Light Trails 2021 - 3x2 Ratio

I took this photo during the Coast Guard Festival in Grand Haven on a summer evening. This photo is the result of combining multiple images of boats passing by after the sun set. I never know how boat light trails are going to turn out exactly since it depends on what boats pass by, but I love the light trails created by a sailboat that had lights on the top and middle of its mast.
